About Mice
Mice are the smallest of the rodent species we are commonly contacted for rodent control and rodent exclusion. Mice can sometimes be confused with rats or rats with mice, but a good way to tell what you're dealing with it to look at the droppings. I know, super gross, but remember rat droppings are about the size of a tic tac, while mouse droppings are about the size of a grain of rice.
Disease
Mice haven't gotten as much attention as rats, but there is the potential for mice to transmit Salmonella food poisoning. Controlling mice can be a difficult task leading to opportunities to contaminate food storage area in homes and restaurants.
Feeding Habits
Mice are opportunistic, and always up to trying new types of food. They have a habit of nibbling, this decreases the chances of ingesting a lethal dose of rodenticide. Mice are omnivorous but prefer grains and seeds. They are attracted to fatty foods like lard, nuts, meats, and also sweets.
Habitat
Mice have a pretty diverse habitat because they can fit in almost anywhere. A mouse can fit into a hole the size of a dime with no problem. They tend to burrow, but don't need to and will utilize nature as well as man-made structures for a cozy nest.

Proper Mice Extermination
Mice control is a three step process:
- Inspection: Identify mouse species and type of damage. This requires a deep inspection and find out where the mice are nesting; do you have them in your kitchen or attic? How have the mice gotten into the structure?
- Trapping: Mouse extermination means mouse-traps. We don't bait inside the house. The mouse will eat the bait and die, then you have a dead mouse smell in and around your home. This is why we set traps and monitor every 3 to 7 days. We do a minimum of 4 trips to ensure the infestation is eliminated.
- Exclusion: After the mouse removal is well underway, the structure should be enclosed. This protects your home from future rodents getting in. Mouse enclosure should always be done along with trapping. All roof vents, roof pipes, gable vents, and any other areas where they can enter need to be sealed. Steel wool, expanding foam, caulk, wire mesh, and some screws go a long way. Then trim back any trees 4 to 6 feet from the structure.
Together, all these elements compose The Bug Master Way ensuring safe and proper rodent extermination, thus protecting you from the danger and damage of any rodent infestation.
