Are you doing everything you can to stop the termite queen?

The Bug Master is relentless at destroying her and her colony.

One termite queen can produce over 1,000,000 offspring in her lifetime - making her formidable. She and her colony can travel the length of a football field looking for food — and if they find your home or business, termite damage repair could cost tens of thousands of dollars.

We use highly effective Sentricon® bait stations to eliminate the termite queen and her colony. Then, we continue to protect your home or business from future termite infestations.

Termite Protection Steps You Can Take

Some of the features that make Texas a great place for people to live also make it attractive to termites. The warm temperatures we enjoy make termite season a year-round reality. The presence of moisture also helps termites thrive, so humid areas can experience higher levels of termite activity.

But you aren’t helpless to prevent a termite infestation! Learn how to avoid termites by following these guidelines:

Reduce moisture in and around your home

All termites need some moisture to survive; subterranean (underground) termites are especially dependent on it. Moist wood is also softer and easier for termites to eat. Home termite protection can begin by eliminating excess moisture wherever you can:

  • Check for leaky pipes and repair them.
  • Dehumidify damp basements or crawl spaces by promoting air circulation or using a dehumidifier.
  • Repair foundation cracks and problems that allow water — and termites — to enter basements or crawl spaces.
  • Address outside drainage problems that keep water near your home’s foundation.

Address wood-related issues on and near your home

Termites will eat any sort of wood, not just the wood construction materials in your home. A key termite prevention step is examining your property for wood issues and addressing them:

  • Unpainted, unsealed, or weathered wood that’s attached to your home can attract termites. Properly coat bare wood and then keep its finish in good condition.
  • Tree stumps, dead/decaying trees, and untreated wood mulch can attract termites to your property. Once termites attack these items, they may enter your home next. Remove these materials whenever possible.
  • Firewood is especially risky, as infested firewood can bring termites directly into your home. Move it as far away as possible from your home and inspect it regularly for signs of termites.
  • Tree branches that overhang your home’s roof or are in contact with it can be a pathway for termites. Trim those branches back.
