Insane Termite Swarm!

Termite season is upon us. And with the weather turning, you'll probably start to see swarmers outside. Or get hit in the face with one.

• What in tarnation are swarmers?
  • Swarmers look like brownish/black ants with wings.
• So just a few, huh?
  • I wish that were the case, my friend. Swarmers can number in the thousands.
• What does it mean to see swarmers?
  • It means there's a mature termite colony nearby.
  • And that colony has been there for at least 3 years.
• How big do termite colonies get?
  • About the size of a football field.
    • And between 60,000 to 1 million termites.
• If I see swarmers near my home, does it mean I have termites?
  • It's possible.
  • A termite inspection from a licensed professional will tell you more.
    • However, because termites live underground signs may not be obvious.
